고전 동화 속 인물들이 모여 사는 마법의 숲에서 백설공주와 백마 탄 왕자는 그들만의 "해피 엔딩"을 맞이하지만, 이를 질투한 사악한 왕비는 마법의 숲에 강력한 저주를 걸어 행복한 결말 따위는 존재하지 않는 끔찍한 "현실 세계"로 모두를 내 쫒고 만다.
그러나 동화 세계를 지킬 수 있는 단 하나의 희망이 있었으니, 바로 공주와 왕자 사이에 때어난 딸 "엠마" 28번째 생일에 동화 세계로 돌아와 마법의 숲을 구원할 운명을 타고난 엠마는 불쑥 자신을 찾아온 한 소년의 손에 이끌려 미스터리한 동화 속 인물들과 조우하게 되는데...
